Tasty food, lower impact

About EcoMeter

When it comes to dining out, you make choices all the time. Double or single shot in your latte? Pick up or delivery? Pizza with or without pineapple?

But when it comes to making sustainable dining choices, you may not know where to start. That's where EcoMeter comes in.

EcoMeter is a sustainable restaurant resource based in Vancouver, BC. We spread the word about restaurants that are finding ways to lower their impact and be easier on the planet. We connect people with restaurants and we connect restaurants with partners.

We focus on four main pillars: food waste, takeout packaging, supply chain, and community initiatives. Each pillar is tied to partners making real change.

With EcoMeter, knowing your foodprint is a piece of cake.

How we started

EcoMeter sprouted as the winning concept from the inaugural Brands Battle for Good, an event that combined a zero-waste conference with an ideation and pitch competition. The goal? To strategize on waste reduction solutions for the community.

As our volunteer team brought EcoMeter to life, the initial concept evolved when it became clear just how deep and complex the world of zero-waste and environmental audits can be (we've learned a lot). We're excited how far EcoMeter has come – and how an idea that grew from our pitch competition table can help you find better options for your dinner table.

About Brands for Better

The Brands Battle for Good event is produced by Brands for Better.

Brands for Better believes that the biggest and most impactful change is created when brands unite their power: their resources, ideas, strategies, experience, and people. We connect brands and individuals who want to create positive change, with opportunities to tackle pressing environmental and social issues in our shared community. We do this by developing inclusive events and initiatives for brands and individuals to come together to create positive, measurable impact. This collaboration and cooperation not only impacts the causes and challenges we address together, but every brand and individual stands to learn and grow from this unified approach.

Brands for Better Foundation is a volunteer-driven not-for-profit initiative based in Vancouver, BC.

We acknowledge that we are privileged to live, work and play on the traditional, ancestral and unceded Coast Salish territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, Tsleil-Waututh and Musqueam Nations, commonly known as Vancouver.
